Medicare Supplement Plans

Aetna Medicare Supplement Plans are an option. Its available to those that qualify and are eligible to participate in the program. Medicare Supplement Plans provides coverage for Medicare Part A, Part B, Part C, and Part D. There are two types of Medicare Supplement Plans: traditional Medicare and Supplemental Medicare Plans. Supplemental Medicare Plan’s are special programs that can be applied to. You must pay an annual fee as well as a monthly premium on these plans. In addition, a fee-for-service physician payment is not included with Medicare Supplement Plans.

Traditional Medicare Plans includes some of the same services as the original Medicare program. The major difference is that you will no longer be a traditional Medicare beneficiary and you will be a Medicare Beneficiary. You also will no longer receive monthly premiums, but you will be responsible for your own doctor and hospital care.Your state will determine what your options are with your Supplemental Plan. There is no consistency to the deductibles and copayments that are offered by different insurance companies.Many states will allow an individual to apply for coverage under a supplemental plan outside of certain geographic areas. The provider network for a Medicaid waiver may not include every provider that is covered in the original Medicare program.

The plan itself is designed to help you avoid a catastrophic situation if you experience a serious health issue like a broken bone, surgery, illness, injury, or a visit to the emergency room or physician’s office visit. If you do qualify for the policy, there are many quality care options available.When you choose Aetna Medicare Supplement Plans, you will typically receive a letter from your insurance company informing you that you qualify for a policy that will cover any of the basic services that were provided by the original Medicare program. However, there may be times when the provider network is inadequate and you would need to go to a hospital that is not part of the health insurance network.

The fact that you are participating in a supplemental program makes it easier for you to qualify for all of the medical services that you want, even if your primary care physician is not part of the program. If you do qualify for Medicare, the differences between the two programs may be quite stark.
